NANO is a new, compact (2″ x 3.5″ x 1″) digital wireless audio transceiver from AirNetix, LLC. Each NANO can be configured to operate as a Master transmitter, Receiver, or Repeater. It can communicate with an unlimited number or remote units. Groups of NANOs can operate on five different channels to create independent networks of different audio. And, when configured as a repeater, the range of the NANO signal is virtually unlimited!
The NANO carries two channels of pristine audio (stereo) with balanced inputs and outputs that allow you to quickly and reliably connect to mixer boards (Master) an/or powered speakers (Receivers/Repeaters). With an incredibly flat audio bandwidth (+0/-3db) from below 10Hz (can you say Woof!) to > 16khz your powered speakers will sound crisp, clear, and inspiring!
The NANO operates in the license-free 900 MHz band with a transmit power of 200mW (+23dbm) into the antenna. The typical RF transmission range is >1000′ under ideal conditions (good line-of-sight, no interference). Higher gain antennas can be used if necessary to transmit ever farther. Operating in the 900 MHz band means that trees, people, and other “soft” obstructions won’t cause nearly as much signal degradation as higher frequencies (i.e. 2.4GHz or 5 GHz).
You can use two NANOs to transmit from point A to point B (one Master and one Receiver). You can use three NANOs to transmit from point A to point B and point C (one Master and two Receivers). This configuration can be used to send audio to stereo “delay stacks”, or as a way to fill in areas in a large venue. And, you can use many NANOs (one Master and X receivers) to fill a much larger venue. You can use one NANO as Master to transmit to a NANO configured as a Repeater to extend the coverage range of your audio feed. The RF signal can be repeated up to five times for incredible range extension.
